Nederlands Loodswezen B.V (DPC). is a maritime organisation, working continuously to improve the quality of its services rendered by registered pilots. In 2005 approximately 425 registered pilots handled a total of 95.000 shipping movements within the Dutch ports. Around 400 staff members provide general support for the entire pilotage organisation.

Dutch Pilot Corporation to test Thorn-D® on Mercury

The Dutch Pilot Corporation will test Thorn-D® on one of their ships, the Mercury. The test will start in week 50 2010. DPC has been rewarded with several prices since they have managed to reduce the environmental footprint. The test will be a challenging one for Micanti since the ships of DPC are sailing 24/7 at full speed up to 28 knots. Reduced speed is not an option and critical for the efficiency at DPC. Besides the speed, we have to bear in mind the weather circumstances as well.
