Tests on static objects

StaticTest_3Preventing fouling on static objects is by far more difficult then on moving objects. Producers of toxic and silicon antifoulings make us of the movement while releasing the organism on a smooth surface. However, if a ship is less in use , like a coastal or a tug, fouling can accumulate easily. Thorn-D® is the only non-toxic antifouling which has managed to stay fouling free for a period of 5 years in row.

StaticTest_2Thorn-D® has been tested on several locations worldwide (map of the world with points of testlocations) . Surfaces on a lock door after 4 years. The blue and the orange surfaces are Thorn-D® surfaces. Next to the Thorn-D®, growth of barnacles and oysters is visible.
